LONG-TERM RESIDENCE IN ANOTHER EU MEMBER STATE

Long-term residence in another Member State may be granted for the duration necessary to fulfill the purpose of residence, with a maximum validity of 5 years.

For stays of up to 90 days in Slovakia, a temporary residence permit is not required if the applicant enters the country legally and reports their stay to the Foreign Police within 3 working days of arrival.

Individuals with long-term residence in another Member State can apply for this type of residence in Slovakia if they: a) Engage in business activities in Slovakia. b) Are employed in Slovakia. c) Study at a school in Slovakia. d) Conduct research and development or engage in special activities in Slovakia, such as lecturing, artistic pursuits, volunteering, sports activities, internships related to studies outside Slovakia, activities arising from Slovak Government or EU programs, fulfilling commitments from international treaties, providing healthcare or accompanying a foreign national receiving healthcare when necessary, or working as an accredited journalist in Slovakia. e) Are family members of applicants falling under points a) to d), and the family relationship existed prior to their application.
